Our Mission & Vision

At "No Other Name," we are dedicated to sharing the life-changing message of the Gospel through this powerful, dramatic production that portrays the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Our desire is to inspire hearts, strengthen faith, and foster meaningful connection with our community.

Our Story...

It all started in a Sunday school classroom. My son Jared portrayed Jesus Christ, carrying the cross to Calvary on his way to be crucified. Donna Stuve played the piano. We taught on the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. And the impact was evident when the children responded with tears and prayers. That was Easter Sunday, 1991.

I went home and felt the calling to write more. I asked another sister in the church, Debbie Lobello to write the Pilate scene where he presides at Jesus’s trial. That scene is still in our drama to this day. My husband, Robert “Bob” Medlin and I began to write the scenes and compile the songs. Debbie Lobello, Maxine Wright and I sat in the church office and decided to title the play No Other Name, referencing the scripture found in Acts 4:12: Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Our first performance was Christmas, 1991. The presence of the Lord was so awesome and powerful. We decided to continue on. Through the years we have changed scenes and songs to keep the play updated and refreshed while maintaining the gospel message. This drama which depicts the birth, death, and the resurrection of Jesus, has affected the lives of so many through the years.

I will mention a few names that are a part of No Other Name as much as I am. David Murray has always been there behind the scenes. Building the props, running the sound, fixing anything that is broken. From the very beginning, he has fully dedicated himself to sharing in this ministry. My amazing secretary Bethany Rodriguez, who keeps us all organized. What would we do without her? What a tremendous blessing she has been and continues to be.

A huge thank you to our late pastor Jerry Connor who had confidence in the ministry of No Other Name. And of course, our current pastor Paul Connor who continues to provide that essential support to No Other Name. To the congregation and all the members of Faith Tabernacle who, over the years have sacrificed their time, work and effort faithfully to ensure the continuance of this passion. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. There would not be No Other Name if not for the body of Christ to help us bring this calling to fruition.

And finally, what can I say about my husband Bob? He was so clever, and funny. But also anointed with his knowledge of the scriptures. One of my favorite lines that Bob wrote for the play is when the disciples are at the last supper scene all arguing who was going to be great in the Kingdom of God. The following scene takes place in the garden of Gethsemane where Judas would betray Jesus. While Jesus prays, his disciples fall asleep. Jesus chastises Peter (which Bob played from the very conception of No Other Name), “Peter! Wake up! Can't you pray for one hour? Awaken my disciples.” And as Peter wakes all the disciples, he scolds them in turn for not praying for an hour. “You couldn’t pray for one hour?! And you wanna be great in the Kingdom of God?” I love that scene.

We wrote this drama together trying to convey to the audience that Jesus was the mighty God manifested in the flesh as the scripture declares! That is why we called it No Other Name. And that name is Jesus!

I can remember the countless nights spent talking together, sharing ideas for the drama. Every night when Bob would come home from work, you would find him is his favorite chair in the front room of the house. And he would be reading and studying the word of God. Bob was such a devoted student of the scriptures. It was because of this passion for the holy word that Bob was known for his scholarly knowledge of the Bible. And I would call out to him “Hey Bob! What do you think of this idea for the play?!” I knew I could always find him there, in his little corner of the room, in his favorite chair.

At our summer home in Oregon, there is a pole barn on the side of the house. Bob would use it to pray in. And as he would become deep in prayer, I would wonder if the neighbors would think someone was getting beat up in there as Bob engaged in fervent prayer as he interceded by the Holy Spirit. That was my Bob.

Sadly, Bob passed away during Covid and is no longer with us. And his favorite chair sits empty in the little corner of the room. But his heartbeat, and fingerprints are deeply embedded in this drama. His legacy will continue to be felt and heard and seen as long as this drama carries on.
